We are twenty kilometres south of St Girons, a pretty market
town and capital of the Couserans, a resolutely rural and
utterly unspoilt part of the Ariege, which itself is among the
least developed and sleepiest departments in the whole country.
We are therefore able to offer an environment far removed from
the stresses of modern life, with the only noise pollution
emanating from the bells around the necks of the cows in the
pasture below the village. That said, St Girons is an easy
drive from Toulouse airport, making us readily accessible from
many UK airports.
Despite its tranquillity, the area is a natural playground,
awash with opportunities for the sporting and wildlife
enthusiast. We are on or near the Tour de France route
every year, the GR10 long distance walk and its countless loops
and offshoots are easily accessible (by foot if you wish), and
we are 50 minutes drive from the Guzet Neige ski station.
